Acres 4.0’s Kai™ Automates Machine Entry Access Logs in Iowa
Acres 4.0 announced that its customer service and internal communication solution Kai™ has been automating the tedious Machine Entry Access Logs (MEAL Books) at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Regulations require anyone who opens an electronic gaming device record and document the entry in a MEAL book. These books are kept inside each slot machine at all times and must be changed out or updated with each machine move, conversion or change in asset number. Most regulations require casinos keep each MEAL book for a minimum of one year after the machine is removed from service, and they must be archived in a way that allows for immediate retrieval of information in case of an audit or investigation. Kai records each entry digitally and stores the information in a secured database that’s accessible to regulators, auditors and management from a web-based portal.
