Treasure Island Las Vegas Review

Treasure Island is a casino-resort located on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. It is often referred to as simply TI. Treasure Island is at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road. It is across from Venetian and just north of Mirage. Treasure Island opened on October 27, 1993.
Treasure Island is owned by Phil Ruffin. He acquired it from MGM Resorts on March 20, 2009 for $775 million. This was about one-quarter the cost to build the resort at that time. It was sold during the economic collapse so that MGM Resorts could have funds to complete the building of CityCenter.
Treasure Island’s theme is that of a pirate ship. That theme has been slowly abandoned over the years. The original show was Buccaneer Bay. It was later changed to Siren’s Cove. The area where these shows once performed has been transformed into a shopping area.

Casino at Treasure Island

Treasure Island offers some of the best gambling on the Las Vegas Strip. It has favorable video poker pay tables and the slots are on the more generous side.
The blackjack is among the best in Las Vegas. The only games that pay 6-5 on a natural blackjack are the four single deck tables. This is typical, especially for the Strip. There are four of these tables with $10-$1,000 limits. Players may double down on any two cards and the dealer must hit a soft 17.
There are five double deck tables with $10-$2,000 limits. Players may double down on any two cards and after splitting. The dealer hits soft 17. The 19 shoe tables have the same rules except that players may surrender and resplit aces. Some of these tables use continuous shuffle machines.
The high limit area is where the best blackjack games are. The limits are $50-$5,000. There are three double deck tables that stay on all 17s and allow double down, even after splitting. The shoe games have the same rules as the main floor games except that the dealer stays on all 17s.
Treasure Island’s high limit salon has a few other $50-$5,000 games. There is Pai Gow Poker, Pai Gow Tiles, baccarat, and roulette with just one zero. These tables are only open during peak hours.
There are four $10-$2,000 craps tables. The odds are 3-4-5 times.

Treasure Island offers several virtual table games. All of these have $1 minimum bets. They include Big Wheel, Shoot to Win Craps and Single Zero Roulette.
Treasure Island operates its own sportsbook. The lines offered by Treasure Island are unique and not spread by any other property. There is also an 8-table poker room. The main game is 1/2 No Limit Texas Hold’em. There are four No Limit Texas Hold’em tournaments per day with a $65 buyin. The 2PM and 10PM tournaments have a $1,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Hotel at Treasure Island

There are 2,884 rooms at Treasure Island. The vast majority of rooms are standard ones. There are many suites on the higher floors and on corners with a view. The resort fee at Treasure Island is $25 per night. Reservations of two nights or more qualify for two for one buffet and show tickets during promotional periods.
Deluxe Room – The Deluxe rooms are 400 square feet and have one king bed or two queens. Rates start at $42 per night during the week and $60 on weekends. A Strip view is $24 more per night.
Petite Suite – These rooms are 630 square feet and have one king. Each Petite Suite also comes with two bathrooms. Rates start at $90 during the week and $108 on weekends.
Tower Suite – Tower seats are 930 square feet and offer one king. These Strip view rooms start at $114 during the week and $132 on weekends.

Dining at Treasure Island

The main dining attraction at Treasure Island is Phil’s Italian Steakhouse. Guests will discover prime steaks and a wide seafood menu at Phil’s Italian Steakhouse.
The Seafood Shack offers many options that are comparable to oyster bar menus. Pasta, chicken and steak are also on the menu.
More casual options include Pho, which offers Vietnamese cuisine, as well as Pizzeria Francesco’s and the TI Buffet. Little Richie’s is a hot dog and Italian beef joint located next to the poker room.

Bars at Treasure Island

Gilley’s is a barbecue restaurant that spreads three massive bars. Guests may take their chances on the mechanical bull located in the center of the joint. There is also a large dance floor. The music theme leans towards country.
Kahunaville and Senor Frog’s are bars with typical tavern food. There are also bars located in the sportsbook and on the casino floor. The high limit salon offers top shelf liquor.

Treasure Island Location

Treasure Island is located towards the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. It is across from Venetian and Palazzo. The Fashion Show Mall is across Spring Mountain from it. Mirage is located just south of TI and is connected by a tram.

Features at Treasure Island

Mystere is the Cirque Du Soleil show that has called Treasure Island home since 1993. It is the oldest of the Las Vegas series. Tickets start at $71. Treasure Island is also home to a variety of comedy headliners. These include Bill Cosby, Wanda Sykes, Carlos Mencia, Bill Engvall, and Whoopi Goldberg.
