Mirage is owned by MGM Resorts, though it was originally built by Steve Wynn over two decades ago. It opened its doors to visitors on November 22, 1989 and is located between Caesars Palace and Treasure Island on the Las Vegas Strip. Mirage started the theme era in Las Vegas, and its iconic volcano greets visitors that enter from the Las Vegas Strip. Part of its theme was once the Siegfried & Roy show with its related tiger habitat. While the show is a thing of the past, the wildlife habitat remains to this day.

Casino at Mirage

The casino floor at Mirage is roughly 100,000 square feet, placing it amongst the largest in Vegas. It once offered some of the best table games in Las Vegas, but that is no longer the case. All of the blackjack tables under $25 now offer completely unplayable rules, while tables of $25+ are still unfavorable. Below we’ll go over these rules in further detail.

Blackjack at Mirage

There twelve 6-5 single deck blackjack tables with bets of $10-$2,000. The rules allow double down on any two cards but nothing after that. The dealer does hit all soft 17’s.
There are nineteen 6-5 six-deck blackjack games. Many of these tables use continuous shuffle machines. Players may double on any two cards and after the split. Surrender and re-split aces are allowed. The dealer hits soft 17 at these tables as well.
Players have to move up to $25 to get better rules. There are four $25 minimum 3-2 tables with the same rules as the 6-5 ones except the dealer stays on all 17s. There is a $25 double-deck table that stays on all 17s and allows double down on any two cards, doubling after the split and re-split aces. The maximum on these tables is $10,000. Similar tables are in the high limit area with a $100 minimum bet.
There are two Blackjack Switch tables at Mirage, but no Spanish 21. The limits are $10-$2,500. There is also a $10-$1,000 Free Bet Blackjack table located close-by.

Craps at Mirage

There are a total of four $10 minimum craps tables which all offer 3-4-5 times odds. There is a Shoot to Win Craps video machine with a $5 minimum as well. Video blackjack is available on an Enchanted Blackjack machine with a $5 minimum.

Mirage Poker Room

Mirage offers a 19-table poker room. The main games are 1/2 No Limit Texas Hold’em and 3/6 Fixed Limit Hold’em. There are four daily No Limit Texas Hold’em tournaments. Mirage’s poker room is connected to a massive sports book.

Hotel at Mirage

Mirage offer 3,044 guests rooms which range from a standard room up to huge suites perfect for large gatherings. The resort fee here is $28 per night. This includes wireless internet and access to the business and fitness centers.
Resort King – This room is 394 square feet. It starts at $70 during the week and $99 on weekends. A room with two queens instead is $10 more per night. Strip views have a $15 per night premium.
Penthouse One Bedroom Suite – These 1,130 square foot suites offer top amenities including an oversized bathroom and separate room for entertaining. Rates start at $270 per night.
Penthouse Two Bedroom Suites – The two bedroom suite is 1,600 square feet and starts at $420 per night.

Restaurants and Bars at Mirage

Mirage offers a wide variety of fine dining options. It is highlighted by Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak. Fin is a top seafood option. Japonais, Stack, Portofino, and Morimoto are other quality options. There is a Brazilian-style all-you-can-eat steakhouse called Samba available towards the rear of the casino floor.
If fine dining is not your style, there are also many casual outlets. Choose between BLT Burger, California Pizza Kitchen, Cravings Buffet, Paradise Café, and a number of quick serve eateries.

Bars and Lounges

All of the fine dining establishments within Mirage offer lounges that are open extended hours. Nightclubs at Mirage include 1OAK, Revolution, and Rhumbar. There are also several video poker bars on the casino floor.

Mirage Location and Features

Mirage is located on the Las Vegas Strip between Caesars Palace and Treasure Island. There is a tram that connects Mirage and Treasure Island, making it easy to get around. The two resorts were once owned by the same company; MGM Resorts, which is why the odd connection exists.
Mirage offers one of the only European-style pools, meaning topless, in Las Vegas. It is known as Bare. There is also a Volcano show along the Strip frontage every evening that attracts visitors.
Aside from the Volcano and European-style pool, there are also many notable shows at Mirage. The constants are Terry Fator, The Beatles LOVE and Boys II Men. Additionally, many comedians roll through Mirage throughout the year. These include Chris D’Elia, Daniel Tosh, Gabriel Iglesias, George Lopez, Jay Leno, Lewis Black, Ron White, Ray Romano and David Spade to name a few.
