Rampart Casino Review

Rampart is an independent casino located in Summerlin; a suburb in the western part of the Las Vegas Valley. It is situated next to Suncoast on Rampart Blvd at Summerlin Parkway.
Rampart is part of the JW Marriott resort, but the two properties are operated separately. It offers several amenities, including a golf course, spa, small concert venue and several lounges. The casino has 57,610 square-feet of gambling space with over 1,500 slots and 30 table games. Aside from traditional casino games, there is also a sportsbook and bingo hall on the property.

Casino at Rampart

The main table game featured at Rampart Casino is double deck blackjack, which offers limits of $5 to $1,000. Players may double down before and after splitting, aces may be split into four hands and the dealer hits on soft 17. Blackjack pays 3-2 at all double deck games. Six-deck blackjack is spread with the same rules plus surrender.
Rampart is one of the few Las Vegas casinos that deals $5 baccarat. Pai Gow Poker is available with a $10 minimum. Craps has a $5 minimum and offers 10 times odds. The Field pays triple on 12. Double zero roulette also has a $5 minimum. All of these games have a $1,000 maximum bet.
Ultimate Texas Hold’em is also offered with limits of $5 to $50. Crazy4Poker has the same minimum and maximum bets as Ultimate Texas Hold’em.

Video Poker

The video poker at Rampart was downgraded after the casino changed its player club in 2017. All of the full pay video poker games were removed. The best game these days is 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17%), but other 99% video poker games include 9/6 Double Double Bonus and 25/15/9 Deuces Wild. All these games are spread in nickel, dime, quarter, half-dollar, dollar and two-dollar denominations.

Sportsbook at Rampart

The sportsbook at Rampart is operated by South Point, and it shares a mobile sports betting app. The Rampart sportsbook is completely nonsmoking but there is a bar that permits smoking in the back. The sportsbook is 6,000 square feet and has more than 80 televisions, including monitors at every seat.

Bingo Room

Rampart hosts a 300-seat bingo room. Sessions start at 11 AM daily. A new one starts every two hours. The last bingo session is at 9 PM on weeknights and 11 PM on weekends.

Rampart Rewards

Rampart Casino uses the Rampart Rewards for its players club which is unique to this casino. Slot players earn one point for every $1 in coin-in. Video poker takes $2 to earn one point. Bingo players earn two points for every $1 in cards purchased. Table games use a formula that depends on the average bet size, time played and house edge.
Players may convert 200 points into $1 in free slot play, cash or food comps. This returns 0.5% at slots, 0.25% at video poker and 1% at bingo.
There are four levels in the Rampart Rewards program. Players start at the Rampart Rewards levels, which offers few perks beyond a 10% discount at Spiedini’s, an upscale Italian restaurant on the property. The Summerlin tier requires 90,000 points in a six-month period. Benefits include two tickets a month into the Summerlin Room, a luxury player’s lounge and 50% off at the buffet when using points.
The Summerlin Premier level takes 200,000 points in six months. These guests receive 50% off at the spa and Starbucks. There is also VIP seating at concerts and restaurants. These guests receive four passes to the Summerlin Room each month.
Summerlin Elite is the top players club tier at Rampart. This requires 400,000 points in a six-month period. Additional perks include private parking, six Summerlin Room passes each month and complimentary birthday and monthly meals.

Dining & Restaurants at Rampart

Rampart is more of a resort than casino and it has eight full-service restaurants – which is a pretty high number of dining options for a casino of this size.

Hawthorne Grill

Hawthorne Grill is a fine dining option. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast menu includes upscale items like smoked salmon and New York strip and eggs. Lunch includes burgers, sandwiches and entrees like steak and seafood. Dinner expands to a larger seafood and steak menu. Hawthorne Grill is open daily.

Spiedini’s

Spiedini’s is the other fine dining option at Rampart. It opens nightly for dinner. The large menu consists of seafood, pasta, chicken, steaks and veal.

Promenade Café

This 24-hour option is a step above most casino cafes. There are several higher-end breakfast items, which are served 24/7. Lunch and dinner options include burgers, sandwiches, pork, chicken, steak, prime rib and Mexican specialties. There is a monthly $7.99 special and a graveyard menu that starts at $2.99.

Rampart Buffet

The buffet is open for lunch and dinner daily. It has brunch on weekend mornings. Lunch is $11.99 with a $4 discount for players. Weekday dinner is $15.99 with a $2 discount for players. Brunch and Thursday dinner service is $16.99 with a $4 discount for players. Weekend nights feature seafood and crab legs on Fridays for $26.99 and prime rib and seafood on Saturdays for $18.99. Other dining options

There are a few other casual dining options at Rampart. These include the Asian fusion restaurant Shizen, Waterside Café by the pool, Clubhouse Deli and Starbucks.

Venues & Hotspots

While Rampart is an upscale resort, most of the activities are located at JW Marriott or neighboring golf courses. The Cascade Lounge offers weekend musical acts. There is a spa and pool. Most of the entertainment at Rampart involves gaming.

Hotel at Rampart

The hotel is next door at JW Marriott. Weeknights start at $119. Weekends start at $149. This does not include a $30 per night resort fee. Rooms are 560 square feet and come with one king or two queens. Rooms have separate showers and bathtub with jacuzzi.
