Owned by MGM Resorts International, Park MGM has just recently become what had been known as the Monte Carlo for almost 22 years. Various renovations are being done including to the old outside theme of Monte Carlo, Monaco.
To try and rate this casino with all of MGM’s other properties, we currently think Park MGM belongs at the top of its 2nd tier, but once the renovations are complete it could potentially be in the upper echelon of all strip casinos. Since the addition of the T-Mobile Arena which is right behind Park MGM, the location has become that much more of a hotspot. It’s located on the south side of Las Vegas Blvd. between New York New York and City Center.
If walking, you don’t have to go back outside to get to it as you can take the tram which is easily accessed by those coming from Bellagio, Vdara, Crystals, or Aria. If driving, you can avoid using the strip by taking the back road of Frank Sinatra Drive.
Parking and valet is no longer free at Park MGM, and on special event nights at T-Mobile its rates are higher. Your rate is determined by your status and how long you are staying. Sapphire is the entry level at MGM properties, but if you successfully apply for the M Life credit card you will be upgraded to Pearl and this allows free self-parking only.

Casino at Park MGM

The gaming space is 102,000 square feet. Slots are all over the place and table games are available in two entirely different sections. Though this is typically an active casino, to our dismay is was smokier than we might have guessed. The selection of table games was decent, with $10 as the typical minimum bet.

Blackjack

On the strip it’s hard to find 3-2 payouts for blackjack unless you’re playing high limit. Park MGM pays 6-5 and the dealer must hit on soft 17 at all tables. If you like single deck blackjack, you can play it for a $25 minimum. If you prefer some of the other variations of blackjack, Blackjack Switch is also available. If you just want to play for small amounts, a virtual blackjack game for $3 is out by the slots.

Craps

The odds are the standard 3-4-5. If you want to play for less than $10, there is a virtual craps game in the slots that requires only $2. The dice are shot by pushing a button.

Roulette

Everything appeared normal with the standard double zero wheel for a $10 minimum bet, but not every roulette wheel had just two zeros. Single zero European Roulette? Afraid not. Recently, some casinos have added a 3rd zero to some of its wheels. Why? To make more money. Your odds of winning go down by a significant percentage, but your payouts stay the same. We’re baffled that gamblers, even if they are just doing it recreationally still either don’t know or care that the house is doing this to them.
Apart from double and triple zero roulette and also out by the slots is a virtual roulette game with a live wheel. $3 minimum.

Other Park MGM Table Games

– Face up Pai Gow Poker ($10 minimum)
– Three Card Poker ($10 minimum)
– Ultimate Texas Hold’em ($10 minimum)
– Crazy 4 Poker ($10 minimum)
– Fortune Pai Gow Poker ($10 minimum)
Some of these games weren’t going, but given that everything else had a $10 minimum, we figure it’s safe to assume these are too. There were plenty of tables for all these games, so getting a seat will never be an issue, but its selection of additional games was lacking. Having just these five games brings up the rear compared to many other casinos.

High Limit Room at Park MGM

The high limit table games section is not secluded in any way. It is separate, but right on the floor near the other table games as well as the high limit slots area. It had 6 total tables and the only games dealt are blackjack and baccarat. There was no low limit baccarat on the gaming floor, only one Mini-Baccarat table starting at $100.
The other five tables were for blackjack which will always be more than what is needed. $100 is the minimum in the high limit room. Other than the dealer standing on soft 17 the rules are the same, and double deck is offered.

Slots at Park MGM

There are approximately 1,400 slot machines that are spread all throughout the casino. Most of them are new, but the old school style slot machines don’t look like they’ve been there for 20 years. Some of its popular and unique games were Top Dollar, Wheel of Fortune, Buffalo Stampede, The Simpsons, Avatar, Breaking Bad, Animal House, Zorro, Walking Dead. Wagers begin at a penny and go up in small increments stopping at $1.

High Limit Slots at Park MGM

Unlike the table games, the high limit slots are in the corner and secluded with their own entrance. It also has its own bathroom.
Its selection had a little video poker, but it was mainly slots and video slots and it had some newer machines as well. We don’t ever expect it to get too busy in here, but limits begin at $1 and go to $5, $10, $25, and $100. Video poker starts at just a quarter and goes up $1 and $5. If you’re wondering why high limit sections allow you to play for the types of amounts you can find on the regular floor, we figure it’s to get you tempted to start playing much bigger if you lose.

Video Poker at Park MGM

One of the most preferred ways to play for comped drinks at bars, video poker was relatively scarce around the casino. You should be able to play whatever variety of it you want but they are all found together, and there are about 20. Between the high limit and regular limit, paybacks are as low as 98.01% for Bonus Poker, and up to 99.58% for Triple Double Bonus.

Sportsbook at Park MGM

Park MGM brings a much different atmosphere for sports bettors with The Moneyline Bar and Sportsbook. They did a really nice job with the layout. If all you want to do is bet, it’s easy to drop in and out as the cashier and betting board is right up front.
Once you enter Moneyline, you are completely free of hearing outside casino noise. As there are many high quality TVs including some big screens all throughout this bar that bends around like an L, you will have no problem seeing whatever game you want. Unfortunately, Moneyline does not show any horse racing.
Additional seating is restaurant style booths along with some wide length tables and benches. There is also a pool table. It’s great that it’s built like a restaurant but isn’t one. There is no menu, but if you want food the takeout Moneyline Deli is there. Since this isn’t a traditional sportsbook we figured you couldn’t get a drink ticket, but you do for every $100 you bet on the games.
You can’t do it over the counter at Moneyline, but you can still do live betting which is betting on games once they have started. To live bet, all you have to do is open an account which can be done right at the cashier. It is free, fast, and once you’re signed up just download the PlayMGM sports betting app. From there you’ll be able to live bet on every game going in addition to all the other lines.

Hotel at Park MGM

Park MGM’s hotel has over 3,000 rooms most of which have been remodeled. Rates of course fluctuate based on when you go, but you can often get its regular room for under $100, plus the rather gut wrenching mandatory nightly $42 resort fee – one of the highest on the strip. The fee includes Wi-fi, fitness center and pool access, and a few other conveniences that most people will not care about. AAA members receive a 10% discount off the room rate only.
The standard Park MGM room which has been remodeled is 406 square feet. You can also get a room of this size with a view of the strip. The suites are the Nighthawk and Nightingale, each at 700 square feet. If you are looking for something especially lavish, you will have to inquire with the hotel since these are typically reserved for VIPs.

Spa and Fitness Center

As of April 2018, the Serenity spa is still undergoing renovations and a reopening date is currently unavailable. There are some nearby options at Aria, Bellagio, and New York New York, but to enter the spa you must pay the marked up non-guest hotel price.
The pool is still open and the fitness center is brand new. It is open 24 hours to hotel guests and has a wide selection of cardio equipment along with free weights.

Restaurants at Park MGM

There are only so many restaurants inside Park MGM, and its food court is also undergoing renovations. Nevertheless, two notable choices are Primrose which is French, and the American pub called Double Barrel Roadhouse.
Additional options are if you go out to the strip and nearby New York New York. Among the choices are Bruxie, which serves sandwiches but uses waffles instead of bread. Picnic At The Park which also has live music returns on May 12 and runs Saturdays during the afternoon. There’s also Beerhaus which has an outdoor patio and a good place to watch sports.
In the fall, Park MGM will also be opening up a new section called Eataly which will have numerous options of cafes and other over the counter eateries.

Fine Dining

The main option for exquisite eating at Park MGM is the also French, Bavette’s Steakhouse and Bar. Here you’ll find a wide selection of steak and seafood, a full wine and cocktail list, glowing chandeliers, and live jazz.

Bars at Park MGM

In addition to Bavette’s, Double Barrel, and Moneyline, other bars are also spread throughout Park MGM offering video poker. The most notable option is Ignite and is open 24 hours.
