Longhorn Hotel & Casino Review

Longhorn Casino is located on Boulder Highway at the intersection of Harmon Avenue. Boulder Station and Arizona Charlie’s are the two closest casinos. At 4,825 square feet, Longhorn is much smaller than most other casinos on Boulder Highway – and guests that frequent Las Vegas resorts may find it to be a smoky and dirty.
The casino is best known for its liberal blackjack rules. There is little else remarkable about Longhorn Casino, however. It is aimed at low-limit gamblers on a budget; and for that it, serves its purpose quite well.

Gaming at Longhorn Casino

There are only 3 blackjack tables at Longhorn Casino which all use six decks. Players may double down on two and three cards and split up to an unlimited amount of hands (except for aces, which may only be re-split twice for a total of three hands). This game has limits of $5-$200 and surrender is available.

Video Poker

None of the video poker at Longhorn Casino returns 99% or more. The typical games are 15/9/4/4 Deuces Wild, 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe and 7/5 Bonus Poker. The highest denomination is $1 but players will also find nickels, dimes, quarters and half-dollars. The rest of the machines are penny slots, and all of the gaming machines work on ticket in / ticket out.

Sports Betting

There is a small sportsbook here that is operated by William Hill, with a few televisions and seats. Bettors may place bets here or make transactions related to the William Hill mobile app.

Bigshot Players Club

Longhorn Casino uses the Bigshot players club which is shared with Longhorn Casino in North Las Vegas. Players earn one point for every dollar wagered and slots and video poker. Players can convert 400 points into $1 in food comps or 800 points for $1 in cash back. The Bigshot players club sends mailers to regular players with free play and food offers.

Dining & Restaurants at Longhorn Casino

The Chuckwagon Restaurant is the only dining option at Longhorn Casino and is open 24/7. Breakfast covers about half of the menu here with items like omelets, breakfast meats, fresh fruit, cereal and country fried steak. The lunch and dinner specialties are pork chops, teriyaki chicken, spaghetti, fried chicken and liver and onions. Other items include soup, salad, burgers, sandwiches, ribs, steak and seafood.
There is a different special every day of the week which include items ranging from tacos, pasta and seafood to pot pie and sweet and sour meatballs. Daily specials start at $7.99.

Hotel at Longhorn Casino

There are 150 hotel rooms at the Longhorn Casino. Each has two double beds. Rates start at $40 per night. Rooms include a new television, refrigerator, local calls and wireless internet.
There is a $5.99 resort fee. This gives the player a gift pack worth $24. It includes a free drink, free ace at the blackjack table and a $5 blackjack match play.
