Circus Circus is located on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. It opened on October 18, 1968. Circus Circus is owned by MGM Resorts. There is also a Circus Circus in Reno.
Circus Circus was designed with the concept that families needed somewhere to stay in Las Vegas. Unlike most Las Vegas resorts, Circus Circus offers many activities for kids. The biggest feature is the Adventuredome theme park. This gives something for the kids to do while the adults gamble.

Casino at Circus Circus

The casino at Circus Circus is moderately sized for Las Vegas. It consists of 126,000 square feet of gaming space. Much of it is wasted.
There are 25 six-deck blackjack tables. Some of these tables pay 6-5 on blackjack. The signs are moved from table to table so the exact count at any given time may change. Many of these tables are covered due to a lack of action. The betting range is $5-$500. There are a few $5-$500 6-5 single deck tables and a few $10-$500 double deck games. Doubling after the split is not allowed in the double deck games.
There are five $5-$1,000 roulette tables with two zeros. Two craps tables with double odds offer the same limits. There are three Pai Gow Poker tables with $10-$1,000 limits. Poker games include $5-100 Three Card Poker, Let it Ride and Mississippi Stud. There is one Big Wheel game with a $1 minimum bet.
There is a sports book offering MGM odds. This means there are no dime lines on baseball.
The best video poker game is full pay Aces and Eights. It is only available in the $.50 denomination. There is also 9/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe and numerous 8/5 Bonus Poker machines with progressive jackpots for a royal flush and four of a kind.
There is no poker room at Circus Circus. It closed in 2013. There are no poker rooms within a reasonable walking distance of the property.
While Circus Circus is owned by MGM Resorts, it does not use its MLife card. Circus Circus has its own player’s club. It is also used by neighboring Slots A Fun.

Casino at Slots A Fun

The casino at Slots A Fun no longer has table games. It has several video versions of these popular games. The best part is these games have $1 minimum bets. There are three Shuffle Master video blackjack machines, one Shoot to Win video craps, and an Interblock double zero roulette machine. It also has full pay Aces and Eights in several denominations.
There many old slot machines that cannot be found at any other casino on the Strip. There is also an old video greyhound racing game where players can bet on past recorded results of dog races. While the games are old, all machines use ticket-in/ticket-out technology.
One drawback of Slots A Fun is the lack of drink service. Beverages must be paid for with cash at the main bar. The exception is players giving action to the video poker machines located in the bar top. These games offer poor odds. We recommend paying cash for drinks at this bar, especially because the prices are reasonable and there are many specials. In fact, Circus Circus guests that do not wish to gamble but wish to drink should consider heading over to Slots A Fun. It is about a one minute walk.

Hotel at Circus Circus

The Casino Tower is the newest remodeled room type. The Skyrise and West Tower are the other two standard types of rooms available at Circus Circus. There are also suites. Room rates start at $21 during the week and $89 on weekends. There is a $14.50 per night resort fee. There is also a motor lodge and an RV park. It is the only RV park available on the Las Vegas Strip. It is accessible through the back entrance on Industrial road.

Dining at Circus Circus

The highlight of the dining options at Circus Circus is THE Steak House. It is an old school steakhouse that still gets great reviews to this day. There is a pizzeria, Mexican grill, buffet, café, and bagel shop. There is a Subway and pizza shop at Slots A Fun.

Bars at Circus Circus

The premiere bar at Circus Circus is Vince Neil’s Eat-Drink-Party. The Big Chill bar serves frozen drinks and is located near the walkway to Slots A Fun. There are two bars in the casino, one near the sports book, while the other is in the lobby area. Cactus Bar is located within the Adventuredome. There is a pool at the pool that is open seasonally.

Location

Circus Circus is located on the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip. It is across from the Riviera casino. It sits at the traffic light at Las Vegas Blvd and Riviera Blvd.

Features at Circus Circus

The main attraction at Circus Circus is the Adventuredome. It is an indoor amusement park. There are a variety of rides for people of all ages. These range from kid rides up to fast-moving roller coasters. There are several rides that take its occupants upside down. Classic rides including bumper cars and a pirate ship are available in the Adventuredome. Some rides resemble what would be found at a carnival, while others are unique to Circus Circus.
All day passes are $16.95 for juniors under 48 inches. Adult passes are $29.95. Nevada residents receive $2 off all day passes. Individual ride tickets may also be purchased. Laser tag is included in the all day pass.
There is no admission charge to enter the park. This makes it a great deal for parents that have no interest in accessing the rides and simply want their kids to have all the fun.
There is a midway with a variety of carnival games. These are separate from Adventuredome.
The center of the casino floor features a circus act in the ceiling. These shows are offered starting at 11am daily. There is no charge for these performances. The best seats are in the slot area that spins like a carousel in the middle of the casino.
Slots A Fun has some fun features for adults. It offers pool tables, video games, and beer pong. There is also a lounge area. It is a nice change of pace from Circus Circus.
