Bally Technologies Earns Five of 10 Slot Floor Technology Awards

LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, casino-management, interactive applications, and networked and server-based systems for the global gaming industry, today announced it won five awards in Casino Enterprise Management’s sixth annual Slot Floor Technology Awards. DM Tournaments took first place on the Top 10 list.

The awards honor new gaming-technology products that drive revenue on the slot floor. Bally took five spots on the annual Top 10 list. No other gaming manufacturer had more than one spot on the list.

A panel of expert judges, including several gaming and hospitality executives, evaluated the award submissions. Bally’s winning products are:

* First Place: DM Tournaments™
* Third Place: SKEE-BALL®
* Fifth Place: All That Jazz™
* Sixth Place: Bally Mobile Platform
* Ninth Place: Total Blast™

“We are proud to have five products recognized in the Slot Floor Technology Awards,” said Bally Technologies’ Senior Vice President of Technology Bryan Kelly. “We have received more than 40 awards for product innovation over the past four years. It is a true testament to the innovative and customer-focused work being done by Bally Technologies. We always want to ensure our customers can provide their guests with exceptional service, an exciting gaming experience, and most of all, a good return-on-investment.”

Much of this technology can be seen at next week’s Indian Gaming 2012 show in San Diego, Calif., where Bally is displaying a host of its trailblazing technology solutions. Here’s a summary of the award-winning technology:

DM Tournaments recently powered the “World’s Largest Slot Tournament” at Pechanga Resort & Casino, which enabled 1,100 players to simultaneously compete in a tournament on slot cabinets made by five different manufacturers. With Bally’s iVIEW Display Manager™ and DM Tournaments, any machine with the technology installed, anywhere on the floor, can be turned into a tournament slot within minutes and then turned back to normal game-play mode right afterwards.

SKEE-BALL® brings the arcade favorite SKEE-BALL® game to casinos on Bally’s Pro V32 cabinet. The game includes a bonus feature in which players touch and slide the screen to “roll” the SKEE-BALL®, winning “tickets” that enable them to “Pick a Prize” on the game that reveals credit awards.

All That Jazz™, also featured on Bally’s Pro V32 cabinet, has a revolutionary iDeck feature called U-Play™, in which players touch and play virtual piano keys. Players attempt to follow a melody by playing the piano keys. Every note is converted into numbers which populate four bonus reels. At the end of the song, the reels are spun to reveal the base-game prize.

Bally Mobile Platform enables casinos to create custom applications running across all devices from one central content manager, enabling casino personnel to create special content and offers and immediately distribute them to targeted customers and potential customers. Operators may alert players 24 hours a day, seven days a week about special offers, even if they are just driving by the property. Operators can target content in countless ways – from age to player’s card level, from the month of customers’ birthdays to how far they are from the property.

With this cloud-based solution, operators input the information directly into the casino-management system, and Bally’s Mobile Platform translates the information to an iPhone® app, a native Android® app, a native BlackBerry® app, an iPad® app, and even a mobile website that works across hundreds of devices. From there, operators can track how the patrons who receive the information behave, seeing if they react to offers immediately.

Total Blast introduces amazing arcade-like player interactivity on the iDeck™, the touch-screen deck that has replaced the traditional button deck on many Bally games. Total Blast takes player excitement to new levels with Bally’s new U-Shoot™ virtual-shooting gallery bonus-game play mechanic in which the player touches the iDeck to create weapons for “shooting” at targets on the main game screens.
