You should know how a website makes money before you trust its recommendations. Here is how Best From The Bets is funded and what that funding does and does not influence.
In short
Some of the casinos, sportsbooks and poker rooms on this site pay us a commission when a reader follows one of our links and opens an account or makes a deposit. You pay nothing extra for this, and the offer you receive is the same one the operator would give you anyway. The commission is the main reason the site exists in its current form and is free to read.
How our links work
Buttons such as “Play Now”, “Visit Site” or “Claim Bonus” and most links to operators pass through an address on our own domain beginning with /go/. That short stop lets the operator’s affiliate program recognise that the visit came from us. To make this work, our server sets the cookies mz_vid (a random visitor ID, kept for one year) and mz_src (the source of the visit, kept for 30 days) when a page loads, and the technical session cookies mozbiz_session and XSRF-TOKEN, which expire after about 20 hours, when you click a /go/ link. The operator’s own site may set its own tracking cookies after you arrive. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Who pays us and how
Payment usually takes one of three forms: a one-off fee for each new depositing customer, a share of the revenue the operator earns from players we refer, or a fixed fee for placement or advertising space. Operators who want to be considered for a listing can contact us through our Get Listed page; a request to be listed is not a promise that we will list anyone.
What payment does not buy
Money does not buy a review score, a positive verdict or the removal of criticism. We describe wagering requirements, withdrawal limits and complaints whether or not an operator pays us, and we can remove a site from our pages if we stop trusting it, even when that costs us income. Where a placement on a page is paid for, we label it as such.
Not every page earns us money
Plenty of what we publish brings in nothing at all: state-by-state law guides, rules of blackjack and roulette, slot machine explainers, land-based casino listings and the responsible gambling section. We also mention operators we have no deal with, and some we warn readers away from. When a page compares several sites, the ones that pay us and the ones that do not are judged on the same points. If we ever had to choose between a commission and a reader’s trust, we would rather lose the commission; a site nobody believes earns nothing in the long run.
Licences and US players
Many operators we cover are offshore businesses licensed outside the United States. They are not regulated by US state authorities, and an affiliate relationship with us does not change that. We never describe a site as US-licensed unless a state regulator has licensed it. Check the law in your state before you sign up, and remember that the site is intended only for readers aged 21 and over.
Why we tell you this
The US Federal Trade Commission expects publishers to disclose material connections with the businesses they recommend, and we agree with the principle. A short notice in the footer of every page points here, and this page sets out the arrangement in plain language.
